Jews of Iran with guest lecturer Marcia Haddad Ikonomopoulos, Judaic scholar. She is the director of the Kehila Kedosha Janina Museum in NYC. In this lecture she will discuss Persian Jews, the Jews of Iran who have a fascinating history of over 2700 years. Once again their ability to survive is being challenged. Active Seniors of Manhasset meets every Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. in rented quarters at the Unitarian Church on Shelter Rock Rd. Phyllis Becker is its director and leads the group in its activities including luncheons at local restaurants. Because many of the group no longer drive, bus transportation is available. The Brain Aneurysm Center at North Shore University Hospital holds a Brain Aneurysm Support group the second Tuesday of every month at NSUH’s 9th floor Tower conference room, 300 Community Dr., Entrance 3. Known as the “Circle of Friends,” the support group is open to all brain aneurysm patients, family members and friends. The group is led by social workers, registered nurses and a brain aneurysm coordinator.
