Pat Grace, the long-time editor of the Manhasset Press, recently retired from Anton Community Newspapers.
“I enjoyed every minute of it,” Grace said of her 10 years as editor.
Surrounded by colleagues who wished her great success and happiness in what she called “the next phase,” Grace cut into a sheet cake inscribed “We Will Miss You, Pat.”Before she was editor, Grace worked as a reporter for the newspaper. Throughout her career at Anton, Grace covered the full range of Manhasset news, from the school board to charity functions. Her reporting and photography have been central to each issue of the newspaper.
“Pat is the consummate community journalist,” said Anton Editor in Chief John Owens. “She knows everything worth knowing about Manhasset, as well as its people and their stories.”
Grace has often been commended by both community members and fellow journalists for her impartial, crystal-clear reporting on even the most complex local issues.
“We all admire Pat, her work and her integrity,” said Owens. “The newspaper and Manhasset are better thanks to Pat Grace."
A new editor had not been named by presstime.
