Obituary: Virginia T. Cosgrove

Virginia T. Cosgrove, 79, of Wakefield, RI, passed away Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 in her home.

Born in New York, NY, Ginny was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Domanico) Russo, and the wife of the late James F. Cosgrove.

A longtime resident of Manhasset, Ginny spent summers in Narragansett before moving to Wakefield permanently three years ago. She was a graduate of Pembroke College at Brown University, a member of the Dunes Club in Narragansett, and enjoyed playing tennis, golf and bridge.

Ginny is survived by her daughter, Kathleen A. Shea of East Greenwich, RI; her son, James F. Cosgrove, Jr. and his wife Colleen of Princeton, NJ; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert J. and Marilyn Russo of Cranston, RI; her sister-in-law Aline Cosgrove of Lewiston, ME; her three beloved grandsons Thomas, Michael and Christopher; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends were invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Feb. 17 in St. Thomas More Church in Narragansett. Visiting hours were held in the Forbes Funeral Home, 28 Columbia Street, Wakefield on Feb. 16. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Gynecological Cancer Foundation, 230 W.
