Sally Gambling, age 83, passed away on August 17, in Sarasota, Florida. Born Sally Bard Loppacker on June 15, 1930 in Montclair, New Jersey, Sally grew up in Glenridge, New Jersey.
In 1949, Sally married John A. Gambling, host of the popular morning radio show “Rambling with Gambling “on WOR in NYC. John predeceased her in 2004. Sally and John lived most of their lives on Long Island, NY. Their family homes were in Plandome, Locust Valley, New York City and Shelter Island before moving to Boca Grande, Florida.
Sally is survived by her son John R. & Wendy Gambling of Locust Valley, NY; daughter Ann Gambling Hoffman & Edwin C. Hoffman of Bedford NewYork; daughter Sarah Gambling McGayhey & Donald McGayhey of Lakewood Ranch, Florida and sister, Ann Glorch & Gordon Glorch of Naples, Florida. Sally had seven grandchildren: Christian, Alexandra, Andrew, Bradley, William, Christopher, Elizabeth and two great grandchildren, Harrison and Wyatt.
A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Palms in Sarasota, Florida on October 12th at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation.
