On behalf of the executive board of the Manhasset Special Education PTA (SEPTA) and all our members, we would like to send our deepest thanks and gratitude to Richard Schaffer, George Patterson, and everyone at the Greentree Foundation for awarding SEPTA with a grant for our adaptive sports program. We are proud to be a 2009 Greentree Foundation Good Neighbor Fund Grant recipient and we are very grateful for the honor.
Thank you also to Thomas O’Malley, Patricia Vermeulen and the grant committee team for their thorough interviews with our group, and their time and effort during the interviewing process. We are very happy that they have found our ‘Skills-n-Drills’ Bootcamp to be an asset to our community, and that the program is worthy of continuing as an SCA Saturday Series enrichment class for 2009-10. We find it a great vote of confidence that the program is seen by such a prestigious foundation as providing real help for an under-serviced part of our community.
Manhasset SEPTA is very grateful to be awarded $7,500 to continue our pilot adaptive sports program in the next school year: Thank you again to the Greentree Foundation and the Manhasset Community Fund members of the Grant Committee!
We invite everyone to come and see this program in the fall, and to see firsthand how many community members—especially the children—benefit from Greentree’s generous grant.
