I have seen this board balance respond to concerns with about generator noise against and the right to own a generator by issuing an innovative specific regulation that secures the right of access to generators allows residents to secure a generator for their home with the proper permit while still protecting the neighbors of those homes from excessive noise disturbances. I have also seen the board adjust the laws on the location of air conditioning units in response to public demand. In the days following Sandy, I witnessed the quick and effective response to a disaster in our village by our dedicated board as well as the staff of the village. to a great deal of applications for variances for placement of units.
