Superstorm Sandy and the Blizzard of 2013 were no match for the spirit of Shelter Rock and Munsey Park students, and the dedication of scores of parent volunteers.
On Thursday, Feb. 28, Shelter Rock became a winter wonderland and Munsey Park, a Mardi Gras celebration, as the schools’ original Halloween parties--postponed by two weather delays--went off without a hitch. Not only did the students have a great time at these hugely successful parties, but a portion of the original budget was donated to the Superstorm Sandy/Project Share Fund, which is providing assistance to those from the Manhasset community directly impacted by the unprecedented storm.
The SCA thanks the students for their patience, understanding and generous support, and the parents for their time, energy and collective efforts. The smiles said it all.
