The parents of graduating seniors worked diligently on the construction of this year’s frolic “Lucky 13—Las Vegas.” The committee spearheading the frolic efforts consisted of Joanne Goldberg, Caroline Kenlon, and Judy Pegno. With the crew of parent volunteers coordinated by Diane Riscica, the Manhasset High School gym was transformed into the Manhasset Club setting of Las Vegas.
As party guests entered the club, pictures of graduating seniors adorned the wall under the banner of “High Rollers.” A pair of dice adorns the wall where a photographer will snap pictures of the attendees. Slot machines were lined up against the wall for those interested in playing the one-armed bandit. Assorted playing tables for games such as “21” (or blackjack), were cordoned off for the “high rollers.” A beautiful gazebo was designated the “Cupid Chapel” to imitate Las Vegas wedding chapels. The chapel will be donated to the school after this year’s Frolic. These are just a few of the things that the seniors enjoyed Friday night.
The decorators even re-invented the bathrooms. The furnishings of the facilities included a play on words—toilet stalls were labeled “Royal Flush.” Special DJ appearances included a surprise visit by Alyen.
