Manhasset iRock Volleyball (U16) team placed first in their pool and competed in the semifinals in the GEVA Regional Championship tournament on Sunday. With only six girls, the team played 13 games in a span of 12 hours with no substitutions and despite injuries. Under the leadership of Coach Tom Shean, Manhasset High School Varsity Volleyball coach, and assisted by Coach Grace Lee, the girls competed valiantly and demonstrated courage, determination, and grit. This team faced tough opponents throughout the club season but persevered through hard work and focus. They often played with only six girls in competition with no opportunity to rest while other teams have 12 or more members. “Everyone made huge improvements. I am thrilled to see how they actively support each other to do their very best,” says Coach Shean.
