Adventures in Learning to Hold Third Annual Tennis Challenge June 6

Adventures in Learning is celebrating it 40th Anniversary this year. The program, which was established in 1969 as an educational enrichment program, has been dedicated to improving the lives of Manhasset/Great Neck children in need of after school care and instruction. To celebrate this very special anniversary, Adventures is planning the Third Annual Tennis Challenge at the Port Washington Yacht Club on Saturday, June 6, starting at 1 p.m. To accommodate all the participants during the tennis round robin, play will also be held on the courts of Manhasset Bay Yacht Club.

 

The Adventures in Learning Tennis Challenge will be an exciting day of round robin tennis for both men and women. The participants will be warmed up by tennis pros. John Dehler, director of racquets, of the Port Washington Yacht Club along with Russell Heier, who successfully ran the Alan King Celebrity Tennis Fundraiser and is director of tennis at Wildwood Pool and Tennis Club of Great Neck, will coordinate the tennis activities during the day. Registration begins at 1 p.m. at Port Washington Yacht Club for all participants. A full day of tennis, round robin play, Pro exhibition and dinner is $125. The evening portion of the event will include a fabulous Live Auction with golf, tennis and sailing, private chef package and beloved auctioneer Patty Lynch. If you can’t make the daytime tennis, please join them for dinner. Cost of dinner only is $75.
