The Massapequa Partnership for Career Development recently held their final meeting of the 2007-2008 school year and reflected on the success of their efforts to connect academics to the world of work.

The Massapequa Partnership for Career Development has just completed their second year as the district's business advisory board. The members of the board include educators, administrators, students, parents and business partners. They meet approximately four times per year to plan events that will help the students become successful members of the 21st Century Workforce.

Through the efforts of the MPCD this year, each secondary building in the district held Career Days. At these events, students learned about various careers from over 150 guest speakers who volunteered their time to share their career paths and advice with the students.

Anyone interested in joining the Massapequa Partnership for Career Development, or participating in future Career Days in the district, should contact Mrs. Denise DeLury at 797-3878 or ddelury@msd.k12.ny.us.
