The Nassau Gymnastics Center recently competed at the U.S.A.I.G.C.- NY State Championships held on May 10 in Edgewood, NY. The Nassau Gymnastics Center Girls Team won the 2nd place N.Y. State Team Trophy in Level S, and 4th place N.Y. State Team Trophy in Level B, as well as 40 individual awards. All the NGC team girls qualified for the upcoming U.S.A.I.G.C. National Championships in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The following are winners from the Massapequa area:

Jessica-Ray Realmuto: scoring 34.975 - 3rd place A.A., 9.35 vault 2nd place, 8.50 beam 3rd place.

Candice DiStefano scoring 34.775 - 4th place A.A., 8.80 bars 2nd place, 8.875 floor 6th place, 9.10 vault.

Jaclyn Graff from Wantagh scoring, 34.45 A.A., 8.75 bars 1st place, 9.0 vault.

NGC 4th Place N.Y. State Team Champions in Lev B are:

Gina Brindisi from Farmingdale scoring 35.10 A.A., 9.05 beams 3rd place, 8.60 bars 2nd place, 8.95 floor 5th place.

Julianne Smith from Massapequa scoring 34.55 A.A., 9.0 beams 6th place, 9.10 floor.

Jessica Jaeger from Massapequa scoring 32.15 A.A., 8.90 floor 7th place.

The NGC Team Girls are coached by Kathryn Foray, Tracy Stoecker, and Corinne Galvani. Ruth and Karl Kopecky, directors/owners of Nassau Gymnastics Center, have coached state, regional and national champions.
