In celebrating October Italian Heritage Month, the Ann Bambino Lodge No. 2353, Order Sons of Italy in America, will be awarding prizes in its 8th Annual "Picture Essay" competition on Wednesday evening, Oct. 22, in the downstairs meeting room of the Massapequa Park Village Hall, 151 Front Street, Massapequa Park. Doors open 6:30 p.m. - program starts approximately 7 p.m. The annual competition is open to all fifth- and sixth-grade students of local elementary schools within the Massapequa area.

The lodge intends to hold an open meeting that night, everyone welcome.

Prizes are awarded in two categories - one for a child of Italian Heritage, and one for a child on non-Italian heritage. Each award is a $100 U.S. Savings Bond.

No charge for admission and refreshments will be served.
