Hempstead Power Squadron, in conjunction with Nassau County and the National Safe Boating Council, will present a program of Safe Boating Demonstrations from 1 to 3 p.m. at Wantagh Park. The theme for the North American Safe Boating Campaign is Boat Smart, Boat Safe, Wear Your Life Jacket. Members of the squadron will be available to discuss life jacket requirements, boating safety and answer questions. Literature will available. All activities, with the exception of the seminars (9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.), are free to the public. Vessel safety checks will be performed. You can bring your boat to the Wantagh Park launching ramp or by trailer to the parking lot. Upon completion, your vessel will be awarded a sticker for the 2008 boating season.
