Disney in Concert

The music of Walt Disney filsm come to life in the Town of Oyster Bay’s Music Under the Stars concert series. The show, called “Around the World with Disney,” gets underway at 8 p.m. at John J. Burns Park in Massapequa. Dean Karahalis and the Concert Pops Orchestra will perform Disney classics while the films are projected on a movie screen. Karahalis is a conductor and music director and has performed around the world.

Stop Motion Animation Workshop For Kids

Presented by the Long Island Motion Picture Arts Center & Museum, the Massapequa Public Library hosts an interactive workshop for children ages seven through 12 in the Bar Harbour meeting room from 7 until 8 p.m. This interactive hands-on workshop teaches the principles of stop motion animation.  Students will create animation like the works of Tim Burton, Steve Box and Nick Park.  The animation is recorded one frame at a time like the stop motion used in Coraline, Wallace and Gromet and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
