Join the South Shore Audubon Society for a bird walk at the Massapequa Preserve from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Long Island Crisis Center is looking for volunteers for the upcoming Volunteer Counselor Training Program. Those interested in becoming a volunteer telephone crisis intervention counselor with LICC must first call 826-0244 to schedule an interview. No experience is necessary to volunteer and the hours are flexible to fit the individual needs of volunteers. All counselors must begin with orientation training. The free comprehensive orientation training program takes place over three evenings in LICC’s office in Bellmore. LICC’s next training sessions will be held 7 to 10 p.m. on Nov. 9, 16 and 23.
