Homecoming Set For October 12

Show your support for the Massapequa Chiefs as they face off against the Syosset Braves at Massapequa High School’s Homecoming Game at 2 p.m. Spirits will be running high early in the day as family and friends come out for the Homecoming parade, with step off time is 12:30 p.m. at Massapequa Park Village Hall. The parade continues south along Park Boulevard and ends at Massapequa High School-Main Campus.

“Homecoming is one of the grandest displays of school and community pride as marching bands, district clubs, Varsity, Junior Varsity and middle school teams; local dignitaries and community organizations come together to support the Chiefs,” said John Piropato, director of Health Education, Athletics and Physical Education at Massapequa High School. “We are honored to have as this year’s Grand Marshal Massapequa Hall of Fame President Mr. Michael Hanna.”

Homecoming events for Friday, Oct. 11 and Saturday, Oct. 12 are as follows:

Friday’s events:

•Pep Rally in Massapequa High School Gym 1 p.m.     

•Girls Tennis Home vs. Wheatley (Oct. 10) 4:15 p.m.

•JV Boys Volleyball vs. Plainview 4:30 p.m.

•JV Girls Swimming Home vs. Manhasset 5 p.m.

•JV Boys Soccer Home vs. Oceanside 6 p.m.

Saturday’s events:

•V Boys Away Cross Country @ Manhattan College Invitational 9 a.m.

•V Girls Volleyball Away @ John Glenn Tournament 10 a.m.

•V Boys Football Home vs. Syosset 2 p.m.
