Robbery at Twin Lakes Preserve

Suspect Used ‘What Appeared’ to Be Machete

The First Squad reports the details of a robbery that occurred in Wantagh on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 1:50 p.m.

According to detectives, five teenage male victims, report that while they were in Twin Lakes Preserve, three male suspects, at least one armed with what appeared to be a machete approached them and demanded that they empty their pockets.

 

The victims, detectives said, complied and the suspects fled the scene eastbound on Park Avenue with three cell phones and an unknown amount of U.S. Currency. The victims described the suspect with the machete as an Hispanic male wearing a purple sweat shirt. There was no further description of the other two suspects. There were no injuries.
