New Center For Health

Wherever you turn — be it television, print, or the Internet — Americans are inundated with the latest and greatest health fads designed to get them to lose weight. However, many of these weight-loss fads are just that — fads — and more often than not, fads simply amount to shortcuts that just don’t work.

However, a newcomer to the Massapequa business scene, Triune Healthcare, located at 690 Broadway, is touting a realistic approach involving good, old fashioned know-how combined with cutting-edge medical science to help people achieve their weight-loss goals...both realistically and permanently, according to Brandon Scott, Triune’s Chief Public Relations Consultant.

“We’re a health and wellness facility, and what we focus on a three-pillared approach, hence the name Triune,” he said. “It’s stress/pain management and exercise and nutrition. We have a lot of different components that work together at ‘bringing you back to your best you,’ which is our motto.”

Scott outlined that plethora of services available at Triune, and all of them are situated around one very important goal — making the patient feel better when he or she walks out their door than when they walked in.

“We have two chiropractors here, a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, a weight-loss program that is phenomenal. And we also have a massage therapist here, so if you just want a nice, relaxing, stress-relieving massage, you can get that done here,” he said. “In addition, we work with the human frame and its structure, so if there’s anything that needs to be taken care of on that end, we can do that as well. We don’t do physical therapy, but we do work with the frame of the body...it’s very good for reliving a lot of pain and stress.”

However, for any physical wellness program to achieve its maximum potential, it must be paired with a comprehensive nutritional approach; that’s where Jacqualine Byrne, Triune’s Medical Weight Loss Consultant, comes in.

“Our program is medically-supervised, and we incorporate nutrition, vitamin injections, and supplements...just everything enhanced together with counseling once a week, where they engage in healthy weight loss under a doctor’s supervision,” she said. “People come in for a consultation and have their fat percentage and Body Mass Index measured, and we pick the best weight-loss package for them based on their individual needs.”

Byrne noted that many people today continually fall into the same traps when it comes to their everyday nutritional traps that are easily overcome and vanquished with just a little bit of effort, she said,

“I think that people don’t drink enough water, and on top of that, they’re not eating every two to three hours... eating small, frequent meals revs up your metabolism very fast,” she said. “And on top of that, they’re not eating the foods that will give them the vitamins that they need for their bodies...instead, they’re a lot of multi-vitamin pills that are actually not benefiting them; you actually pee them out before your body uses them. You’re better off eating actual, healthy food.”

Dr. Rusty Dioguardi, one of the Chiropractors on-staff at Triune, extolled the healthy virtues of keeping your body in alignment at all times.

“It improves circulation, range of motion, and your lifestyle, because if you can’t move, you’re not healthy,” he said. “There’s healthy motion, and that’s basically what we do...restore the normal balance and equilibrium for someone’s benefit and the improvement of their normal daily lives.”

Despite originally opening their doors in August of 2013, Triune Healthcare only recently held their grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony on Jan. 31 with the Massapequa Chamber of Commerce, and according to Chamber President Patricia Orzano, Triune should make a welcome addition to the Massapequas.

“Triune offers a lot of natural and non-invasive health services that will be very beneficial to the well-being of the people of Massapequa,” she said. “They have an all-around menu for healthcare, and they seem like they have a great team. They’re already getting great word-of-mouth, and I’m sure they will be a wonderful asset to the community.”

Assemblyman Joseph Saladino, R-Massapequa, was among the community leaders who turned out on the day of the ribbon cutting to offer his support to Triune; Saladino noted that another new business opening in the area was a positive sign that the national recession is continuing to claw its way back to recovery.

“The opening of Triune Healthcare speaks volumes about the economy on the rebound in the Massapequas,” he said. “Stores are opening and they’re staying open, and in this case, people looking for quality healthcare now have another option. We want to see our stores open, we want to see more jobs, and we want to see a vibrant economy to continue to blossom in this great community, and today is a great step in that important direction.”
