Massapequa’s American Legion Post 1066 and the Sgt. Peter F. Colleran Post No. 7763, Veterans of Foreign Wars, co-sponsored the Memorial Day Parade Monday, May 25.
The 10 a.m. parade stepped off on Front Street in Massapequa Park, north on Park Boulevard, west on Clark Boulevard, past the Kiwanis Fishing Bridge to Broadway. It then headed south to the Klestinec Park where a Memorial Service and Wreath Laying Ceremony was held. The Town of Oyster Bay Show Mobile was placed on Broadway in front of the James Funeral Home across from the Park where elected officials and invited guests gathered and to review the parade participants. Residents and friends of the marchers lined the streets the entire parade route under a bright sunny morning.
