The 29-year-old Mims completed the 31.107 mile course from the Plainview trailhead on Sunnyside Boulevard to the Cold Spring Harbor terminus of the Trail and back in 2 hours, 22 minutes, 13 seconds, putting him in 4th place overall. The Run was conducted by the Greater Long Island Running Club under the direction of veteran Race Director Nick Palazzo, with a total of 92 finishers in the 25K and another 38 finishers in the accompanying 50 Kilometer Run. A portion of the proceeds will be turned over to the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference to support the good work that the Conference does to maintain and protect Long Island’s network of trails.
“Our thanks to our friends from the Massapequas for supporting this important event,” stated Race Director Nick Palazzo. “Brendan, Chris, Frank and Warren are fine athletes, and we were thrilled that they could join us for this year’s Run.”
