Assemblyman Tom McKevitt criticized the assembly for ending session without passing any concrete legislation that would lessen the tax burden on residents.
"Everywhere I go, my constituents are voicing their concerns about it becoming increasingly more difficult to afford our state's sky-high property taxes, outrageous gas prices and health care premiums," said McKevitt. "I will be ready, each and every day, to come back to Albany and pass meaningful reform that cuts taxes and puts money back in people's pockets."
McKevitt continued his call for the Assembly to reduce property taxes, eliminate the gas tax during the summer months and promote preventative care and universal access to health care.
