Marion Caroline Krams (Hansen), born Rozela May Olmstead, on Nov. 9, 1926 in Gerry NY, died July 5, 2011 in Springfield, OH, surrounded by her loving family. She was raised by her birth parents McKinley George Olmstead and Ida Downey during the depression years and when the parents could no longer afford the children little Rozela and her brother Everett were sent to a local orphanage. A farm family who had lost a son wanted to adopt Everett but the orphanage told them they must take both children as they needed to stay together. After a short period of time little Rozela was returned to the orphanage and eventually traveled on the “Orphan Train” to the Children’s Aid Society in New York City. She was separated from her brother for the next 25 years. She spent several years in and out of foster homes until being taken in by Arthur and Esther Hansen of Greenlawn, NY, at which time she took the name, Marion Caroline Hansen.
