Thomas J. Wrenn

Thomas J. Wrenn, 86, of Mahwah, NJ, passed away on April 20, 2009. He was born on Dec. 29, 1922.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Angela Wrenn of Mineola; and grandchildren, Vivian and Jimmy Wrenn of Mineola; and daughters, Teresa (Patrick) Garcia of Staten Island and Maureen (William) Hickey of Rockford, IL. Also survived by his brothers, Francis X. Wrenn of Hawthorne and John J. Wrenn of Colorado; nieces and nephews, Mary and Francis Wrenn of Hawthorne, David Wrenn of Virginia, Patricia Connelly and Thomas Higgins of Mahwah, Daniel Connelly and Charles Connelly of Allendale, Mary Beth Knors of Byrum, John Connelly and Thomas Connelly of Connecticut, John Wrenn and Kathy Selchert of Colorado.

He served bravely and honorably in the U.S. Army 17th Field Artillery Observation Battalion, 1st Army, 5th Corps in Normandy, Ardennes and Czechoslovakia. He was a proud member of the Williston American Legion Post #144 for over 50 continuous years and more recently enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow servicemen at the Mahwah VFW Post #7124. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Corpus Christi Council $2502. He was a teacher in Mineola for 44 years and a former village trustee of Williston Park.

Arrangements were made by the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, Ramsey. Funeral Mass celebrated April 24 at Immaculate Heart of Mary RC Church, Mahwah. Interment Brigadier General William C.
