I hoped there was more to the update than was provided so I could fully understand the issues that Congresswomen McCarthy wanted us to be aware of.
I can certainly empathize with the Congresswomen’s frustration with the state of affairs in Washington D.C. I do agree with her that we deserve more stable and responsible leadership than what we are getting but it is not because of the Tea Party Republicans.
The voters sent them to Washington to lead with a philosophy that we are taxed enough already. Locally we already started to fight to reverse the pickpocket effect of unfunded mandates so asking Congress to stop enacting unfunded mandates is perfectly reasonable.
I am glad there is an effort to have serious and concrete discussions to stop automatically taxing us and find other ways to pay for programs even if the road to a solution is rough. At a minimum it stops the rubber stamp approval to spend our money and maybe the first step to quality civic returns from our government.
