Torrential downpours make navigating the streets almost impossible. Hopefully this new drainage project being worked on to bring flood relief to the Bruce Terrace area, as well as my office’s block, will do the trick.
Concerning the relief to East Second Street, where Anton offices are located, the Village of Mineola would install five new catch basins with five 6-foot manholes and 1,420 feet of 18 or 24-inch drainage pipe on Liberty Avenue with a new outfall structure into the Mineola catch basin to provide storm water relief, according to a report obtained by the Mineola American.
Anton sits a stone’s throw from the catch basin on Westbury Avenue. Knowing that updates to the nearly defunct drainage system will commence soon, my car can rest assured it won’t float away if Mother Nature decides to wring out her sink towel on Mineola.
