Mineola Mustang offensive lineman Christian Martin has made great strides and has become a solid two-way player on the line of the Mustangs. His commitment in the offseason to strength training has enabled him to open up lanes for Mustang ball carriers through the first four games.
In consecutive wins over Carle Place/Wheatley and North Shore, Martin helped pave the way to a pounding running game that powered the Mustangs to more than 500 rushing yards in the two games. As a team captain, he plays multiple positions on the line and leads by example as a student athlete as he holds an overall 87 average.
Martin hopes to play college football and is actively seeking out opportunities to further his career as a student athlete at the next level. Martin also has soft hands for a big guy (275 lbs), but his size and strength led the coaches to use him on the line as opposed to tight end.
