Track Finds Its Stride

The Mineola High School Boy’s Winter Track team competed against conferences 4 and 6 at St. Anthony’s state of the art indoor facility recently. Senior Jake Tavernite and Junior Chris Mueller performed well in the 1600 meter run.  Jake took second place overall, with a time of 4:46.  His race came down to the last lap, and a breathtaking finishing, where he managed to defeat his long time rival from Friend’s academy.

Mueller ran one of the gutsiest races of his career, making aggressive moves with over 400 meters left to go.  He finished in first-place in his heat, and 11th overall.
