Cassidy Funeral Home won the Mineola Athletic Assocation Majors Championship game against Bethpage Hicksville Mason Lodge 7-3 on June 22.
Cassidy jumped out to an early 2–0 lead in the first inning, when Kevin Perlow scored on a sacrifice fly by Nick Ramos and Joseph Lubrano scored on a triple by Brian Heckleman.
Perlow held Mason Lodge scoreless through the first four innings with defensive help by Nick Limazopoulos, Roberto Filpo-Toscano, Alan Nanu and Dennis Peitler. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Cassidy’s
Funeral Home scored five more runs to take a 7-0 lead. James Medved got the inning started with a single, followed by a single by Kevin Pusey, a walk by Blake Bastos and singles by Chris Marotta and Jordan Sandler. Mason Lodge would not go quietly and started to rally in the top of the 6th inning but fell short. Cassidy Funeral Home held on for a 7-3 victory.
Kevin Perlow pitched 5-2/3 innings and Jordan Sandler came in to record the final out of the game.
