The Corpus Christi boy’s third grade basketball team concluded their very successful 2009-2010 basketball campaign against St. Mary’s of Manhasset at the St. Mary’s Girls High School gym.
Head coach Ken Solosky was extremely pleased with the boy’s dedication, hustle and spirit displayed throughout the season. “We came together in November never having played as a team,” he said. “By our last game, the squad was really firing on all cylinders and most importantly showed sportsmanship and team values.”
The boy’s team had the privilege and honor of being assisted by Chaminade High School JV basketball coach Bob Hazelton and he was equally impressed by the progress of the third grade boys. “In my over 10 years of coaching youth basketball, I never saw such a tremendous improvement in a very short amount of time” remarked Hazelton. “This team will really develop and grow due to the commitment, hard work and dedication of the boys.”
