It is with great pleasure that I welcome the new Post Crew Program to the new boathouse at Beekman Beach, Oyster Bay. A crucial part of any rowing facility is to have an active, competitive, scholastic program. At Oyster Bay we will have four schools: Post, Oyster Bay High School, Chaminade and Friends Academy. Each day residents of the area will readily see students of the township actively pursuing the sport. It is a blessing of sorts to have such great public visibility at a rowing venue such as Oyster Bay. Post's crew program will be no secret.

The Town of Oyster Bay has been very generous in allowing Sagamore to use town land for this purpose. I think it will be very pleased with its decision as it sees the benefit these programs provide for residents and their families. Such a sport as rowing also heightens awareness of all persons to the marine environment as a precious resource. Something that is to be protected and cherished.
