I will be walking around the Oyster Festival again, taking photos and looking for interesting stories. If you spot me, give a shout and "let's talk."

I already have a great Oyster Festival story and the weekend hasn't even started.

It was a thrill to hear that Julie Rosenthal, Oyster Bay High School Class of 1984, is the corporate person to call for a quote from Sprint. She is the Sprint Public Relations Director and is now living in Washington, D.C. and handles the east coast.

Interestingly, she visited a recent Oyster Festival to meet with her former OBHS classmate Nancy Beck, who is living in Seattle and going for her Ph.D in molecular biology at the University of Washington in Seattle.

When Julie got the proposal about sponsoring the Oyster Festival, she said, "This is so cool." She remembered how nice the event was.

"The reason Sprint PCS is sponsoring the Oyster Festival is that we are expanding our network into the Oyster Bay area and we want to know the community better. We look forward to being a true community partner with them," said Julie Rosenthal, spokesperson for Sprint PCS.

That was her official quote.

Julie is in touch with a lot of her friends from here. She said Billy Owens is now a big producer at CBS. He covers news from the White House.

Julie remembered carrying the Bluebird Flag for Campfire Girls in the Memorial Day Parade. I remember that too. I marched dressed in red, white and blue as the girls were. It was great.

Julie won't be at this Oyster Festival, but she will come to another one, she said. By the way, her brother Ken is now a Sports writer/columnist for the Baltimore Sun.

So there is my first Oyster Festival story. I'm looking for more. Give me a shout!
