The Boys & Girls Club of Oyster Bay-East Norwich will be starting two new winter basketball programs, an intramural girls' basketball league for 8-10 and 11-13-year-olds, and a boys' basketball travel team for 11-13-year-olds. The intramural basketball league will start in January and continue through March 1999. Registration will be held on Nov. 14 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the clubhouse. The registration fee is $20. All registrants must show proof of age. Participants must not be 11 or 14 years of age before April 1, 1999 to be eligible for each division.

The boys traveling team tryouts, for ages 11-13, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Clubhouse. Boys in this basketball team are not to be 14 years of age before April 1, 1999 to participate. A $50 fee will be charged to each player who makes the team to cover all team expenses, such as uniforms and equipment. Team members will practice weekly, a detailed schedule will be published. This boys traveling team will start in December and continue through February.

You must be a Boys & Girls Club member in order to participate. A $10 membership fee and completion of a membership form by a parent or guardian is all that is required. The clubhouse is located at One Pine Hollow Road, Oyster Bay.

The Boys & Girls Club reserves the right to cancel the aforementioned programs in the event of insufficient enrollment.
