The community group, Stand For Healthy Children, hosted an open meeting for anyone in the community to come find out about the Child Health Plus Insurance Plan funded by New York state. Dr. Chesterton and the gracious custodial staff at Vernon were very helpful in making these arrangements. Our thanks, too, to your publication's willingness to highlight the issue.
Ana Landron, Eileen McFetridge and Luz Torres all provided invaluable assistance in planning and hosting this meeting. Mrs. Landron is a bilingual psychologist within the school district who gave of her time freely and generously. Mrs. Torres represents the Hispanic Cultural Center in the community and Mrs. McFetridge is the Stand For Healthy Children representative for Oyster Bay. Each of these women is very dedicated to the goal of helping all children obtain health insurance.
If you were unable to attend our meeting and you do not have Medicaid or private health insurance for your children, please call Eileen McCartney at 624-6575 or 624-6878 for information and assistance.
