Billy Minicozzi called to say the mystery picture was taken from "On top of the hill that used to be the location of the Pine Hollow Bowling Alley. You are looking at the Lizza sand pits which is now Norwich Gate in Pine Hollow, in Oyster Bay," he said. Billy thanked Big Mike for confirming his choice of mystery picture location.

Billy was rooting for the lady soccer champs last weekend and had said, "Let's go USA Girls Soccer team, I hope they win the world cup," and he was certainly right in his choice!

John Martin of Bayville said the mystery picture looked like the sand pits seen, as coming down Beacon Hill in Port Washington. He's certainly right about that, there is a similarity to the two locations - just the time frame is different. The picture was given to the Oyster Bay Enterprise Pilot by Tom McGee of Oyster Bay.

Gertrude Gallagher called to identify the picture of the railroad station too late for the newspaper's deadline.

This week's mystery picture.
