Ethel M. Doyle, formerly of Bayville, died on Sept. 1, 1999. Wife of the late James A. Mother of James I. Doyle and Patricia Patterson. Mother-in-law of Craig Patterson and Geraldine Doyle. Grandmother of Thomas, Suzanne, Craig Jr., Stephen and Cheryl. Great-grandmother of Christopher, Ashleigh, Katherine, Nicholas and Stephen II. Arrangements were made by the Williams Funeral Home, East Hampton. Funeral Mass at St. Gertrude's RC Church. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the MS Society.

John Sobieski, 73, of Glen Cove formerly of Locust Valley, died on Sept. 4, 1999. Employee of LILCO for 40 years. Husband of Anne (nee Kopczynski). Father of Linda Pascale (Peter), John Jr. and Cynthia. Brother of Frank, Marian (Mae) Chrzanowski, the late Stanley, Chester and Edward. Special grandfather of Nicholas. Arrangements were made by the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Mass celebrated at St. Hyacinth's Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.

Lucio Sorre, 66, of Manhattan and Old Brookville, vice president and chief wine taster of Banfi Vintners, died on Sept. 4, 1999. Born in Trieste, Italy, he emigrated to Manhattan and taught himself English. He studied at Fordham University choosing his career in wine. Mr. Sorre worked in public relations and for other importers before joining Banfi Vintners. At Banfi, he served as goodwill ambassador touring the US and Italy. He was chairman emeritus of the Sommelier Society of America and was recently elected president of the Society of Wine Educators. Husband of Charlotte. Father of Mark and Elena. Brother of Marina Colombo of Ivrea, Italy. Arrangements were made by the Oyster Bay Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Dominic's RC Chapel. Interment private. Donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

Lillian S. Beatty, formerly of Oyster Bay Cove, died on Sept. 6, 1999. Wife of Joseph C. Mother of Jane Beatty, Nancy Edlin and Barbara Spenningsby. Arrangements were made by the Beney Funeral Home, Syosset. Funeral Mass at St. Edward Confessor RC Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
