Dr. John Gable: 'The past isn't over!'
Theodore Roosevelt received his Congressional Medal of Honor on Tuesday, Jan. 16. It was scheduled to be presented to his family at around 10:45, in the White House by President Bill Clinton during his last week in office. "Vernon third grade school teacher will not get his wish," said Dr. John A. Gable, executive director of the Theodore Roosevelt Association. Mr. Siegelman had been campaigning to have President Clinton come to Sagamore Hill for the presentation.

Bermingham Estates Stand Tall
The Town of Oyster Bay Zoning Board of Appeals on Dec. 14, was the forum for residents to air their views of the results of development on their quality of life. Adjacent property owners of the new Bermingham Estates are not happy with what has been happening to their area. Used to living in homes that backed onto the wooded Bermingham school property they are facing a new reality.

New Year's Polar Bear Swim Into Frosty Long Island Sound
Bayville Polar Bears took to the cold Long Island Sound waters at 12:00 sharp this New Year's Day, appreciating the warm sunshine. Taking the plunge this year was much different from last year's first annual swim, when temperatures were in the 50s. About 100 residents attended.
