The Oyster Bay Wildcats Indoor Squad took first place in the Coindre Hall Indoor Soccer Tournament by defeating the Albertson Lightning 4-0 in the championship game for the boys U14 group. This is the second indoor championship for the Wildcats in the past three years. The Wildcats went undefeated throughout the sixteen game season, which was played over eight weeks. Much of the credit goes to our goalie Eric Multer and our defensemen, Brian Sheehy, Scott Witthuhn, Nicholas Capozzo and Bobby Gartland, who gave up only 13 goals in 16 games. Of course we can't forget the three leading goal scorers in the tournament, Fabian (23 goals), Dan Mortensen (21), Nick Chakiryan (13).

We couldn't have done it without Max Davis playing tough in the corners, digging the ball out and crossing it over. Due to previous commitments, other members of the Wildcats outdoor squad could not participate in this indoor tournament. After a successful fall 2000 season, the Wildcats will move up to division 2 for the spring 2001 season.
