The thirteenth annual LaBranche & Co. Save the Children Polo Cup, Chukkars for Children will be held, rain or shine, at the Meadowbrook Polo Club, Whitney Lane, Old Westbury, on Sunday, June 10.
One of the highlights of this family day is the children's tent where there will be continual entertainment including the Leela Puppet Theater performing a traditional children's puppet show. This company from Rajasthan, India, has been performing for 18 years using their own hand-made puppets. Following their show, they will give some details about the art of puppetry.
Joan Anderson as "Giggles the Clown" will help guide parents and children to the various activities which include pony rides and a petting zoo by Patrician Farms from Dix Hills, the ever-popular face painting and an exhibition of the Save the Children's art contest winners. Food, fruit smoothies and goody bags will be provided by Whole Foods, Manhasset as well as snacks from Robert's American Gourmet and juice boxes courtesy of Apple and Eve, Roslyn.
