Centennial Celebration in East Norwich
East Norwich re-lived its past on May 5 as it celebrated the centennial of the cornerstone laying by then Vice President Theodore Roosevelt on May 18, 1901. The festivities were kicked off with a parade marching to the tune of There'll be a Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight." Played by Boy Scout Troop 253 band, under the leadership of Steven Walker.

Anything That Floats II
June 2 was a great day on the bay for Friends of the Bay. They lucked out for their first annual Bay Day. It started with the annual Row-Around at 11 a.m. followed by food, music and exhibits to see, until 2 p.m. when the Anything That Floats Race took off.

Oyster Bay Again Hosts Successful 'Long Island Endurance Runs'
Fifty-six determined endurance athletes outlasted the unseasonably warm temperatures on Saturday, May 19 to cross the finish line in Oyster Bay's Fireman's Field to complete the 6th annual Long Island Endurance Runs. Fourteen men and three women completed the 50 Mile Run, and 32 men and seven women finished the accompanying 50 Kilometer Run.
