James C. Miller, 69, of Oyster Bay, died on June 17, 2001, following a long battle with congestive heart failure. He was the owner of the Oyster Bay Boat Shop. Jim is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Beegie); his daughter from his first marriage, Ruth of Richmond, VT; and his sons and daughters-in-law from his second marriage, William, Timothy (Bam) and Richard; and seven grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held at a future date.

Nancy A. Caldwell, of East Norwich, died on June 27, 2001 in Sedalia, MO. She was born Dec. 23, 1943 in Eldon, MO, to Rev. Charles and Nancy Catherine Shelton Caldwell. Ms. Caldwell held a bachelor of science degree in biology from Southern Methodist University and a master of arts degree in education from Columbia University. She worked at St. Mary's (P256Q) in Syosset for 12 years as a science teacher. She was an avid tennis player and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends at the Sagamore Yacht Club, listening to opera and participating in the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her mother; sons, David Caldwell and Steven Caldwell; and her brothers, Marvin Caldwell and Edward Caldwell. She was preceded in death by her father. Arrangements were made by the Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia, MO. Memorial service at Christ Church with Rev. Bruce Griffith officiating. Ms. Caldwell was cremated.
