The mystery picture was identified by a mystery caller named Bob. He said the benches were next to the statue of St. Patrick, but shortly corrected that to a statue of St. Dominic, which is right.
The mystery picture was identified by Stephanie Murdock who said, "It's outside of St. Dominic's on Anstice Street. That's the way I usually walk home from school. I go to OBHS and am going into ninth grade. I am enjoying the summer. I'm going to sleep-away camp with two of my friends."
Stephanie mentioned her friend Allison Selby who also knows where the benches are: they sometimes walk together, she said.
Billy Minicozzi was on vacation the week of July 4 but is looking forward to the Bayville Fire Picnic on July 29. He is looking forward to the baseball season and the all star game that took place on Tuesday in Seattle.
Crystal Ahnert said, "The mystery picture is the entrance to Canivan Hall at St. Dominic's." That was the perfect answer since it was taken the evening the Oyster Bay Main Street Association held a forum there.
"The mystery picture on July 5, was taken outside the entrance of St. Dominic High School," said Eric, Kelly and Allison Multer.
They are right too!
The benches look wonderful and make us think we should ask Monsignor Charles Ribaudo to take on the position of Street Scape designer for the hamlet of Oyster Bay.
The evening of the OBMSA meeting on Walkable Communities, Inc. we sat on a stone wall by the parking lot next to the gymnasium and watched people taking advantage of the nice evening to stroll down the street. Monsignor Ribaudo has done a wonderful job making Anstice Street a gem, just imagine what he could do with the rest of Oyster Bay! - DFK
