In a wildcard playoff game, the GBB&GC's major softball team, for seventh and eighth grade girls which includes players from St. Gertrude's CYO, under Nadine Pacifico's coaching, beat St. Dominic's of Oyster Bay for fourth place.
This started a pathway to the championship when the team then played first place St. Paul's of Brookville whose winning stream of 45 games was broken when GBB&GC beat them 3 to 0. The CYO championship final held at Eisenhower Park on June 16 found GBB&GC winning the championship beating St. Barnabas of Bellmore 7 to 2. The highlight of the game was Alyssa Sclafani of Bayville who pitched 16 strikeouts and hit a three-run homer.
