The Boys & Girls Club of Oyster Bay-East Norwich is offering teens an all-night party. It sounds like a great idea and it's something the young people want. Here the young people will have the fun of staying up all night in a safe environment.

Carrie Monteleone, program outreach director of the Boys & Girls Club of Oyster Bay-East Norwich said "Teens like to go to teen clubs and are not attracted to dances anymore, so I wanted them to do what they wanted, in a safe environment.

"What they want is to stay up all night: to have a big slumber program all night long. Teens love live music so there will be live bands. They will kick off the event at 10 p.m. and play until midnight," she said.

She has tickets ready at the front desk, but is open about the teens attitudes. "This age group doesn't sign up in advance. We've limited it to 100 kids. The first 100 who walk in will get to stay.

"There are tickets available now, so get the ticket in advance and you'll be there," she said.

It's the first time ever that the Boys & Girls Club will welcome grades 9 through 12 from 10 p.m. on Saturday night Nov. 3 and keep them there at "The Lock-In" until Sunday morning, Nov. 4 at 9 a.m.

Doors will close at midnight and members will not be permitted to leave the building before 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., unless authorized by a parent/guardian.

The admission to the unusual event is $10.

Students can sign up at the front desk at the clubhouse in advance. Registration is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

You must be a Boys & Girls Club member in order to participate in any club activities. A $15 fee and completion of the membership application by a parent/guardian is all that is required to join.

It sounds great. The world is always looking for new ways to have fun. It is great that the club is open to suggestions from their members. Have a great time teens!
