I had the pleasure and privilege to coach 10 fine U7 boys at the Syosset Soccer Tournament over the Columbus Day weekend. These 10 boys represented the 48-member U7 Intramural program in grand fashion. Despite only having three practices together and Saturday's foul weather, they placed third in the entire tournament! They won 2, lost 2 and tied 1. In fact, they defeated the team that won second place!

These boys gave their all in each game and never gave up! Even after Stephen Megaloudis had his tooth knocked out he wouldn't leave the game! All the boys played like champions - passing, dribbling and good strong kicks at the goal. My sure-footed, aggressive forwards, who constantly shot on goal, were Tyler "T" Ozkan; Stephen "Toothless" Megaloudis; Matthew DelRosso; and Quinn McQuade.

My expert midfielders were Liam Kearney; Tyler Douglas; and Kevin Rubio.

My goal-saving, always alert fullbacks were Andre Flammia and Brian Levhuck. And last, but certainly not least, our magnificent goalie (and all-around fielder) Ian Estevez!

Lastly, I'd like to thank the parents and relatives of these great boys who supported and encouraged them and me over the weekend. I hope I get the opportunity to coach each one of them again soon. Thank you boys for a fun-filled weekend!
