Beatrice Belle, 71, of Bayville, died on Oct. 11, 2001. Wife of Michael. Mother of Michael (Karen), Nancy Brown (David) and Nicholas. Arrangements were made by the Oyster Bay Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Gertrude's RC Church. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the American Lung Association, 225 Wireless Blvd., Hauppauge, NY 11788.

James (Louie) R. Barry, 67, of Bayville, formerly of Yorkville, NY, died on Oct. 18, 2001. Husband of Rosemary. Father of Nancy Barry and Christine Karis (Chris). Brother of Doris Martin, Thomas and the late Irene Moore and John. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the Oyster Bay Funeral Home. Funeral service. Interment Calverton National Cemetery.

Edward C. Borroughs, a long-time resident of East Norwich, formerly of Glen Cove, died on Oct. 19, 2001. He was 72. He served in the US Air Force, obtaining an honorable discharge with the rank of captain, and later gave 10 years of service in the Air National Guard. By profession, Mr. Borroughs was president of his sales manufacturing business, Borroughs, Jorge & Melillo in NYC.

His community benefited by his many talents - he held the position of commissioner of accounts for the City of Glen Cove and was on the board of directors for the Glen Cove YMCA. A parishioner of Trinity Lutheran Church, he served his church as a Deacon.

Mr. Borroughs is survived by his wife, Leavelle (nee Billingsley), and his children - his daughter, Victoria Bustamante (Fernando), sons Bruce (Lisa), Richard (Galit) and Douglas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tom, Elizabeth, Amanda, Edward James, Nicholas and Christopher; and two sisters, Elizabeth and Maude.

Arrangements were made by the Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home, Oyster Bay. Memorial service was held at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Dorothy Martorano, 72, of Bayville, died on Oct. 20, 2001. Wife of Thomas. Mother of Steven (Mary) and Diane Poelker (Lenny). Grandmother of Paul, Ryan, Michele and Evan. Arrangements were made by the Oyster Bay Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Gertrude RC Church. Interment private. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
