Jessica Baker, a senior at St. Francis Prep, graduate of The Green Vale School and Brookville resident, placed first at the 32nd NSCHSGAA Individual Gymnastic Championships held on Nov. 4 at Holy Trinity High School. Baker and her team at St. Francis Prep faced four other Long Island teams: Holy Trinity and Kellenberg, Our Lady of Mercy and St. John the Baptist at the annual event.

Baker's many previous accomplishments include placing first in floor exercise and fourth in vaulting last May at the USAG Level 9 Junior Olympics. She holds the vaulting record for the Catholic High School Athletic Association in 2000 and has been her team's captain for the past two years.
