A group of fourth through eighth-grade Boys & Girls Club members enjoyed their Friday afternoons fishing aboard the famous Christeen Oyster Sloop from Sept. 21 through Oct. 26!

They journeyed the beautiful waters of Oyster Bay in search of fish such as porgies, sea robins and fluke, while sharpening their sailing skills as well.

"The Boys & Girls Club would like to thank Rob Crafa, executive director of The Waterfront Center, (aka the Center for Marine Education and Recreation in Oyster Bay); Clint Smith, president of the Christeen Oyster Sloop Preservation Corporation and Henry Del Percio of the Oyster Bay Anglers, for making this program possible," said Carrie Monteleone, program/outreach director of the youth club.

"It was a wonderful intergenerational program. I'm not sure who had more fun, the Oyster Bay Anglers or the kids from the Boys & Girls Club," said Mr. Crafa.

For more information regarding the Boys & Girls Club of OB-EN, please call Carrie Monteleone, at 922-9285, extension 107.
