The American Cancer Society, the nation's largest voluntary health organization, honored Donald Eversoll of Sea Cliff as its Man of the Year for 2003. Eversoll, a senior manager at Pulte Homes in Medford, received his award at the American Cancer Society's 23rd Annual Man of the Year Golf Outing in the fall.

The more than 255 golfers who participated in this year's tournament helped to raise more than $250,000 for American Cancer Society programs in research, education, advocacy and patient and family services here on Long Island.

The outing was held at both the Pine Hollow Country Club and the Muttontown Country Club simultaneously, with a cocktail and dinner reception at the Pine Hollow Country Club in the evening. During the dinner reception, past honorees Tony Panza and Walter Schwartz presented 2003 Man of the Year Eversoll with a plaque and the traditional blue blazer.
