The US Coast Guard Auxiliary is offering a one-day safety boating course on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 8:15 a.m. It will be held at the Oyster Bay WaterFront Center (enter through the Theodore Roosevelt Park entrance at the end of Larrabee Avenue) on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 8:15 a.m.

"Effective January 2004 all PWC operators must complete this course. It's the law," explained Gerald Raymon, USCGA chairman.

The auxiliary is also offering a six-session course "Boating Skills and Seamanship." It will be given at the Oyster Bay Waterfront Center starting Thursday, Feb. 5, at 7:30 p.m. Most insurance carriers offer discounts upon completion, said Mr. Raymon.
